Suzhou, situated on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shores of Taihu Lake, is a key part of the Yangtze River Delta region and has a over 4000 years of rich history. The city is one of the first 24 historical and cultural cities, the major tourist cities, and also one of the four key environmental protection cities, whose titles are all authorized by the Chinese government.
