Meili Snow Mountain is the highest peak in Yunnan province, which has long been known for its elegant and magnificent sight. The main peak of Meili Snow Mountain is Kawaboge Mountain. In Tibetan, it means “snow-capped holy peak”. For ages, Kawaboge Mountain has always been revered as the patron saint of Tibetan Buddhists. Immersed in the seas of clouds, the pyramid-like Meilin Mountain looks even more mysterious. In order to worship the holy peak, people built two temples at the foot of Meili Mountain. They are Qudenggong Temple and Gunmading Temple. Every year Tibetans who live in Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai and Gansu province come here and make pilgrimages. So the Meilin Mountain is not only a tourist resort for people to explore but also a place with intense atmosphere of Tibetan culture and customs.
